Obama's New Rock-Inspired Logo

UPDATE: I refined the graphic a bit and it is now available on buttons and t-shirts at my Zazzle site.

Sorry, Bob. It was just so....fitting. I had to do it. You know I love ya.

From 'Ship of Fools', also by Bob Seger:
...Is there something else I should know?
Something hidden down below the level of your conversation?
Well he turned away before the answer
Though I yelled aloud he refused to hear
It became too clear...

WGRC: I'm In A Grand Funk State Of Mind

The passage of the Porkulus Package has me in a blue funk this Friday the 13th...so here's a great song by a great Michigan band in keeping with the heartbreaking events of the day:

WGRC: We Just Disagree

Dave Mason is doing an interview this morning on local radio, which prompted me to remember this great song. The title seems appropriate given the activity in Washington these days, while the lyrics (from Traffic's Low Spark of High Heeled Boys) are perfect. Enjoy! Then call your Senator...
The percentage you're paying is too high-priced
While you're living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he's made on your dreams
[snip]
If I gave you everything that I owned
And asked for nothing in return
Would you do the same for me as I would for you
Or take me for a ride
And strip me of everything, including my pride
But spirit is something that no one destroys

Ship of Fools

I'm not at all certain Bob meant this song to be a political statement, but it sure feels like one this morning. I hope I survive the sinking.... 'cause I surely am on a ship of fools!

Has Black Friday Come?

The day after Thanksgiving is often called 'Black Friday' because shoppers usually flood stores in a frenzy of Christmas gift buying. This year, maybe not so much. In fact, 'Black Friday' could take on a whole new meaning if the dire predictions of the pundits and other assorted 'experts' prove accurate. Get out there and BUY something, will ya?

Ironically, this song is even more relevant today than it was when it was released 33 years ago. The more things change, the more they stay the same... there is nothing new under the sun...everything old is new again.... Oy.
